MPO Committee Structure

The Rockingham MPO operates with two standing committees: the MPO Policy Committee, and the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). The Policy Committee consists of the regular appointed Commissioners to the RPC, an appointed representative from any non-member community, transit systems, as well as federal, state, and regional planning partners. This committee makes policy level recommendations, approvals, and endorsements related to transportation issues that have a bearing on the MPO’s continued, comprehensive, and coordinated (“3C’s”) transportation planning process. The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) consists of a single appointed representative from each community, transit agency, and federal, state, and regional planning partners. The main purpose of the TAC is to provide technical guidance and recommendations to staff and the MPO Policy Committee concerning transportation issues that have a bearing on the MPO’s 3C’s planning process.
